New senior independent living home opening in Bastrop, TX (anticipated Oct 2020) with 3 beds available in two different homes next door to each other.
- 1x master bedroom $3,000
- 2x private bedrooms (shared guest bath) $2,800 each.
Price includes all utilities, cable, internet, meals and a third party, in-home, licensed careworker will be on duty during the day for 6 days a week (with full occupancy) to help with ADL (activities for daily living), such as meal prep, laundry, bathroom, meds, outings, etc.
Why take on the full cost of in-home care when it can be split between residents? Supplemental hours can be contracted with the caregiver company directly for extra hours of care if necessary.
This is two manufactured homes on private land with gorgeous pine trees and a quiet rural feel, only 2 miles from Lake Bastrop. Homes are not currently ADA compliant, although an entry ramp is under construction to both, so home is best for semi-able bodied seniors. Common areas will be furnished. Bedrooms will not be. there is a large grassy, wooded courtyard area between the homes and woods with a ravine to enjoy on the back of the property.
This location is best suited for active seniors, who may be slowing down in life, need minimal help, but would prefer to live in a small community family home with their peers rather than in a large institutional facility. There is no careworker overnight so the home is not a good fit for those who need 24/7 care, unless paid for separately. This is not a licensed carehome. This is more in tune with independent living, but a familiar, comfortable, single family residence instead of an isolated apartment. Rental agreement covering all living costs is separate from the care contract which is effectively a third party ‘in-home care’ provider the same as you can use in any residence. the advantage of leasing here is that you get a group rate and therefore share the burden of an in-home care service.
Family visits and involvement is highly encouraged and welcome. A part-time property manger will also facilitate community connection, special events, holidays and act as family liaison.
